KIPP FIRST Lead Coaches 2020-2021
In the past two years, KIPP has expanded its FIRST robotics program to reach over 130 teams nationwide. During the 2019-2020 season, 28 KIPP schools brought home awards from FIRST qualifiers! Our students are dominating tournaments, having a blast, and learning a ton.... and so are our coaches! According to the KIPP 2020 End-of-Season survey, 73 coaches gave FIRST a 9.3 out of 10 average rating as a “worthwhile addition” to their school. FIRST rocks, and KIPP is committed to providing FIRST coaches the support they need to make FIRST a fun, sustainable, and doable program for all.
In April 2020, KIPP Foundation selected 9 FIRST Lead Coaches to support the KIPP network with summer training and on-going coach support throughout the 2020-2021 year. Each Lead Coach was chosen due to their passion for STEM, robotics experience and expertise, and their desire to help others fall in love and feel successful with FIRST programs. Congratulations, coaches! We can't wait to see you lead the network later this year!
